Currently living in Orchard Lake Village in Michigan, I have always been a dedicated family man. I started working at a very young age, first with my grandfather, a hands-on electrician who had started his own business. During high school, I worked 16-hour days in construction during the summers. Afterward, I worked in my family’s industrial supply corporation.
I moved on to work with one of the largest road construction companies in the Midwest. Using my abilities, I worked my way up to oversee my own division and was in charge of millions of dollars of equipment, as well as responsible for the buying of millions of gallons of fuel and oil. I like to mention that as it shows my ability to control millions of dollars in assets. In fact, I was able to see how oil, OPEC, and the US dollar related and how the entire system worked. During that time, I was able to forecast two major drops of oil in the world.
One of my biggest inspirations to go into the insurance industry came from my grandfather. He purchased 4 rental properties to use as retirement income. His goal was never to fully retire, but instead to always be involved in a business. He also focused on helping those who were less fortunate. These actions inspired me to devise a plan to help others. I decided to retire early and together with my son, Sean Sparkman, we decided to go into the insurance business with a clear goal to help the Baby Boomer generation with their retirement planning.
I am a proud father of four and a grandfather of two. I enjoy spending time together with my family, fishing on our boat, biking, snow skiing, and just plain family time together.
While I am currently living in Michigan, through our advanced technology systems, it is possible for us to meet “face-to-face” online, as well as, share computer screens so that we are all on the “same page”.
