Learn More About Me

My name is Sean Sparkman, I specialize in helping Americans financially prepare for retirement with the proper use of annuities. I help clients all over the country find ways to generate more retirement income and see how to securely protect their money during these turbulent times.

Despite the current volatility in the market, there are still strategies that you can put in place right now to ensure that you do not run out of income and keep your money securely protected from future market downturns.

While most financial advisors are more than happy to provide you with investment tips and growth opportunities for your portfolio, few financial professionals know how to actually convert your savings into a long-term sustainable income (and protect your money) so that you can spend with confidence when you retire.

I provide no-nonsense financial and retirement income advice. I was homeschooled until 5th grade and I have always had a love for learning. This led me to become an avid reader from a young age and my dad gave me books ranging from “Think and Grow Rich” to “Rich Dad Poor Dad” and John Maxwell’s “The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership”. I come from a long line of business owners and have always known that my path in life would lead to owning my own business one day. More importantly, my spiritual life was one of following Christ. One of my favorite bible verses is Philippians 2:3-4 “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” I believe this encapsulates the very best of humanity. Our ability to serve each other to the best of our potential is what creates strong relationships and fulfillment. Every individual must find their own path of service.

I had spent 12 years working for my father at a large highway construction company and we knew it was time to go back to our roots of family-owned business where we could truly serve people. The financial industry was a natural draw for both of our natural gifts and skill sets. Retirement planning has become more confusing than ever. With the overload of financial news, social media, emails, and phone calls that people receive on a daily basis it is very hard to know who to listen to and who is right. For most it is so overwhelming that it’s easier to bury your head in the sand and say “Forget it. I’ll stay right where I am.” But we all know that the world is very different than it has been in the past 20-30 years. If you don’t educate yourself and make moves to secure your retirement now then you may get left behind. Our goal is to educate everyone we talk with, to make financial planning simple, easy to understand and straightforward, the way it should be.

The good news is that there are strategies you can use to grow your money, while at the same time keeping it safe no matter what type of market or economic environment we are in. I work hard to make complicated financial processes easy for my clients to understand. This, in turn, helps them to sleep much better at night, knowing that their funds are well protected.

I reside in Michigan; although my office is located in the upper Midwest, I have clients that I work with throughout the United States. My father Rick Sparkman and I partnered together and decided to go into the insurance business with a clear goal: to help the Baby Boomer generation with their retirement planning.

Through our advanced technology systems, not only can we meet “face-to-face” online, but we can also share computer screens so that we are all on the “same page”. That way, you can see first-hand how various income strategies may work for you and your specific goals.

I do my best to take the mystery out of annuities and retirement planning by answering some of the most commonly asked questions in a simple, personalized way. All of my meetings are conducted over the phone and through your computer, which means you do not need to leave your home or have to visit me in my office.

My wife Alyse and I are proud parents to two boys, and I enjoy spending time together with them. I also enjoy fishing, rock climbing, biking, snow skiing, and just plain family time together. I earned my black belt in Ashihara Karate, a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and have been training in a myriad of martial arts for over 14 years.

Karate stands for “the way of the empty hand”. The important part of that meaning is “the way”. Traditional karate is not simply a method of self-defense. The way is a path, the word “sensei” simply means “the one who came before”. In my journey of life at the age of 20, I knew the world labeled me a man, but I did not feel like one yet. In my own search to become a man, I knew I needed a crucible to refine me from the boy I was, to melt me down and bring me into manhood. For me that crucible was martial arts, and I purposely found a karate school that would teach me not only the physical, but the mental and spiritual aspects of the discipline. Karate is a way of life, and it is instilled into my very being. I fight so that I have the strength to stand for my family, my friends, and my clients. If you can’t take care of yourself, you can’t help anyone else.

Rick and Sean Sparkman

By partnering with my father, Rick Sparkman, we are able to help the Baby Boomer generation all over the country with their retirement planning. Together, we can find ways to generate more retirement income and see how to securely protect their money during these turbulent times.

Working with my father is not something new to me. I had spent 12 years working for him at a large highway construction company. I saw him work his way up to oversee his own division and how he was in charge of millions of dollars of equipment, as well as responsible for the buying of millions of gallons of fuel and oil and overseeing and controlling millions of dollars in assets. In fact, my dad was able to see how oil, OPEC, and the US dollar related and how the entire system worked. During that time, he was able to forecast two major drops of oil in the world.

I always saw my dad as a dedicated family man. Consistently, he would tell me how he started working at a very young age, with my great-grandfather, a hands-on electrician who had started his own business. Having my father as a role model to look up to has motivated me to be very dedicated in my practice, and alongside my Karate practice, I feel that I have both the physical, mental and spiritual strengh to help others.

My dad has shared with me that one of his biggest inspirations to go into the insurance industry came from my great-grandfather. He purchased 4 rental properties to use as retirement income. His goal was never to fully retire, but instead to always be involved in a business. My great-granfather also focused on helping those who were less fortunate. These actions inspired my dad to devise a plan to help others. He decided to retire early and together, we decided to go into the insurance business with a clear goal to help Americans financially prepare for retirement with the proper use of annuities.

Although our offices are located in Michigan, we work with clients throughout the United States. All of our meetings are conducted over the phone and through a computer, which means you do not need to leave your home or meet with us.

Feel free to reach out to us if you are looking for retirement planning guidance and annuity recommendations to help you reach your retirement goals.
