Unsolicited: When I think of Sean Sparkman, I smile. I am grateful that Sean came into my life. There are a multitude of attributes I could use to describe Sean. Friend comes first and that s his doing. While he is our financial planner, our relationship has become more than that. I see Sean in the broader context of family man. I know that how he comports himself is governed by how he serves his family. And luckily for his clients, that same behavior gratefully spills over to how he treats his clients. Initially I was very skeptical concerning FIAs, how they worked and fit into my retirement plans. I had no idea what to expect, thought it was all fancy sales hype. I reached out to a few financial planners with various programs but not sold on the proposals. I did my homework, contacted Annuity Gator for their take on the subject which connected me with Joshua. After a few meetings, reading through his book things started to make sense. Joshua was straight forward answering any, all questions about the products available to me with great patience. We continued to meet for almost a year before coming up with a solution that fit my goals, decided to include my pension, 403B funds into two products to supplement Social Security at retirement. Joshua was on top of all the products available, ratings and felt my best interests were met. Joshua ran down all the numbers, options and went with guaranteed payments for life, a legacy option. Both FIAs together provided the shortfall I was looking for which included beneficiaries. Joshua was great to work with, would highly recommend his services.

My sincere thanks and appreciation to Joshua Schlinsky for his patience and understanding as I made changes from my original request in purchasing an annuity. There was absolutely no rush by Josh for me to sign anything until we both knew exactly what I wanted to accomplish. He offered to send me his book, Wealth Compounded, so I would understand who I was putting my trust in. (I admit I was apprehensive in dealing with an Agent in Florida – several states from my residence in Missouri.) We talked on the phone several times. My initial plans drastically changed a few times as I mulled over my investments between our conversations. My final and most important decision was to opt out of my funds invested in the stock market by purchasing a Single Premium Deferred Fixed Annuity – no more worries about the stock market plummeting to 50%. Now my funds will grow with interest added each year, it will only decrease if I withdraw funds. The process was not totally hiccup free as my Stock Brokerage Company had requirements which caused me concern and I leaned heavily on Joshua during those times. I am very comfortable now with my final choice and my Agent, Joshua Schlinsky, who carried me through the entire process.

After contacting Annuity Gator I was contacted by a licensed insurance advisor who offered me a choice of annuities based on my specific retirement income need. I was presented with a list of insurance companies along with their company ratings. I went with an insurance company with an “A” rating that was offering a promotional interest rate during the five year accrual period which allowed for the principle investment to grow significantly prior to the first distribution. The advisor then worked with me to fill out the necessary forms (of which there are many) to submit an application to the insurance company I chose. Keep in mind that this process takes several weeks and multiple telephone calls, but the advisor was there for me every step of the way.

We met Joshua Schlinsky through annuity gator while we were working through some annuity options. Joshua educated us on some annuity options that were a good fit for our specific needs. Mr. Driggers’s strongest positive trait was his desire to please the client. He seemed very motivated to do that. He also seemed knowledgeable about the topic and the products available so he could offer good choices of products. Overall, I thought he did a very good job. I might attempt one constructive general comment that goes beyond Mr. Driggers. Personally, in my 74 years of life, I have never encountered an investment advisor, financial counselor, insurance salesperson et al. who listened to the client – except for one. They all talk a lot, often very amiably, but never really listened to me. This one individual who did listen sold insurance, and he was indeed unique. When he meant with us, the first thing he said was something like, “How are you doing? Tell me about yourself and your family. What are you thinking about? What are your needs and concerns? Why are you thinking about buying this product? And then he would listen and listen, taking a few notes, asking follow-up questions that, in retrospect were quite relevant to the business at hand. We ended up buying a large insurance policy from him, and remaining loyal to him until he retired. He apparently was quite successful as we received notices of the rewards and promotions he received. I am not a financial advisor. I don’t know much about it. But as a client, it makes sense to me that listening, asking appropriate questions, and trying to understand the clients needs, concerns, biases, feelings, and so on would be very important. Mr. Driggers did a fine job. If these comments are communicated to him, I hope he will not be offended but take them as an attempt at constructive ideas from a satisfied client.

I am not a novice purchasing annuities or researching internet companies . I own several MYGAs for different accounts and confidently chose them myself . However, I was pitched a complex fixed index annuity from a specific company by a suave financial advisor. I noticed many red flags throughout this advisor s lengthy presentation and knew I needed another unbiased opinion . I found annuity gator online and liked their business model of only using independent financial agents who represent hundreds of companies and were not captive agents . The application was delivered to the annuity company , reviewed, accepted and funded in a reasonable time frame without mistakes or missing data. That alone is huge . I knew immediately that Jason was the right agent for me and I chose the best product for me with his support . It s very difficult to search the internet for reputable companies and even rarer to find an agent with both analytical and interpersonal skills .
